October 1st was the first day that the FAFSA was open to students! FAFSA stands for Free Application for Federal Student Aid and is designed is a form that can be prepared annually by current and prospective college students (undergraduate and graduate) in the United States to determine their eligibility for student FA .

FAFSA determines your eligibility for federal grants, loans, and work study funds!

It’s also extremely important to make sure you apply as early as you can to receive feedback quicker!

Here’s a list of things you need to apply:

  • Social Security Number
  • Alien Registration Number (if you aren’t a U.S. citizen)
  • 2016 federal income tax returns, W-2s and other record of money earned
  • Bank statements and record of investments
  • Records of untaxed income
  • An FSA ID to sign electronically

Fun Fact: Any changes while you’re in school such as different job or address then your FAFSA might change? BOLO!
