Hannah came to Roosevelt as a sophomore and that is the year he joined Roosevelt’s  basketball team. He came from Eastview High School because he was recruited by the varsity basketball coach at Roosevelt.

Elijah is not the first Hannah to attend Roosevelt, Elijah father Elijah Hannah, Sr. also attended Roosevelt and played on the basketball team.

“At first I didn’t know,I just made the layup and everyone started going crazy more than usual. I was like, what’s going on? Then it was a time out and I realized it was my 1000th point and I felt good and I was excited. I gave everyone high fives then I went and gave the ball to my mom and it was a fun experience,” Hannah says.

When Hannah came to Roosevelt as a sophomore he didn’t think his career would go this far. “I knew at Roosevelt I would be able to play more and take more shots but I didn’t see it going this far.”

Hannah’s career won’t stop there, he will be playing for St. Thomas University in St. Paul next year.

He says his coach from Roosevelt, Rob Mestas, will also be supporting him next year in college. “He is talking about bringing the team to my games next year.”
